The second week of the month of living is now over. In this post, I will analyze the progresses I made this week, compare this week with last week and prepare the next week. I am still using for week 2 the same points system as for week 1 as I found it useful.

What worked well

This week again, I was much more aware of what I am eating than usual. I know that I have to eat my five fruits and vegetables or avoid sugar if I want to get more points and it motivates me. Moreover, I noticed that even on the day when I have been eating cake or chocolate, I have still been careful not to eat too much of it.

One of the biggest successes of the week is that I managed to eat 5 fruits and vegetables or more every day of the week. I managed to consequently reduce juices and soft drinks too (although this is not that difficult to me because I prefer drinking water anyway)

I am also happy that I found time to cook, exercise and even to prepare a DIY beauty mask with the children. My three-year-old and I did some yoga, which he found very funny. My daughter prepared a beauty mask with me and tried it, which scared the three-year-old. The two big children prepared an avocado-banana-chocolate smoothie and tried it. We also had a long walk together again. These are activities that I find very valuable for small children.

What did not work so well

I got slightly less points than last week (34 vs 37). I am still struggling with some aspects of the challenge. First, I do not cook as many healthy meals for the family as I should. We are often tired in the evening and cook some easy quick meal that we know the children like. Most of the fruits and vegetables I ate in the week come from the company canteen.

I have also difficulties to motivate the rest of the family to follow the challenge too. The children tried the avocado-banana-chocolate smoothie but were not really enthusiastic about it. I also tried a zucchini lasagna recipe. My husband and I liked it, but as for the children… One child only ate the meat and cheese, one child only ate the zucchinis and the last child did not eat anything.

What did not work so well either is the attempt to use mostly natural products for my hair. I have great products for the hair such as coconut butter and rhassoul clay powder but I did not always follow correctly the usage instructions because I have difficulties to find time for this. Therefore, I did not become the expected results, which is a pity because I know my hair looks great when I use them properly. My husband ended up buying me a new shampoo.

Plans for next week

The objectives for next week are pretty similar to last week’s objectives. I want to keep eating many fruits and vegetables every day, have a few day without sugar and try new healthy recipes. I want to do some funny activities with the children this week again.
