The month of reading aloud a lot: week 4

The 4th week of the reading aloud challenge has just ended. As I had to go back to work, I had less time to read to the children than during week 3. However, we kept reading everyday. My daughter read also several little books all alone. She was invited by her German grandparents for the week-end and I asked them to make her read aloud, which they did. The month of reading aloud a lot: week 3

We spent the third week of our reading aloud challenge in France by my family. It was a nice time there as my parents and my sister spent a lot of time with the children. The only sad thing about this week was the Notre Dame fire. My mother was born in the street next to the cathedral so it was a shock for her. During this week of holiday, we could work a lot on the reading aloud challenge. My parents still have lots of children books at home. This post may contain affiliate links. Week 2 was a little stressful because we had to prepare for the holiday but we still could read much together. This post may contain affiliate links. See the Disclosures page for more information. The month of reading aloud a lot: week 1

The first week of my reading aloud challenge is now coming to end. Until now, this challenge has been fun. I read to the children every day and we already could read several books and stories we really liked. This post may contain affiliate links. See the Disclosures page for more information. Methodology For information, the list of books read this week includes several children magazines. I count them as books because these are very qualitative publications that include several stories that are very well written and beautifully illustrated. When I allude to them in the list, then I’ll give both the name of the magazine (we receive every month…

The month of reading aloud (a lot) to the children

As April is coming, I decided to start a new monthly project: the month of reading aloud (a lot) to children. Lately, I have not consequently read to the children. When I come back from work in the evening, I do not have so much energy to do something meaningful with the children, This has to change and I hope this monthly project will motivate me to read more to the children. Advantages of the project: Enables to spend quality time with the children Improve the language skills of the children Improve reading skills for the first grader Inspiration as I would like to write a children book one day…
