    Goals for Q1 2021

Happy new year! 2021 has now begun and it is a good time for a fresh new start and new goals. 2020 was a difficult year for most of us. I would not say it was a useless year because we learned a lot about ourselves and the world we live in but still, it was not the best year ever. Reviewing my goals for Q4 2020 Blogtober challenge in October -> Done. It worked better than expected. Teach my daughter to ride a bike -> Still in progress. As I was 4 weeks away with the boys, I had not had so much time to work with her on…

    4 weeks speech therapy

My sons and I came back home a few days ago after a 4-week stay at a clinic in Bayern. We were sent there by the doctor because the boys are not speaking enough for their age and needed intensive speech therapy. I went with them as accompanying person. I must say, it was a nice change. Because of the coronavirus epidemic, we had not been able to take any vacation this year so this was nice to travel a bit. We had of course to be very careful and get tested before we could go. Fortunately, we tested negative and could start the therapy. Health cures in Germany Health…

    Last day of Blogtober

Today is the last day of Blogtober. I did not exactly wrote a post every day but I wrote 27 posts (if you include today’s post). I am very happy about this result. Until now, I had never written so many posts in such a short time. A few things I learned this month Setting constraints and forcing yourself to write works better than waiting for inspiration. Writing more posts is not enough to really increase blog views. I should post more often on Pinterest. Posting more often enables more dialogue with readers. On the other hand, posting every day is a bit much. It is difficult to write long,…

    Plans for November

November begins in 2 days. For me, this means that Blogtober is nearly finished. It was a fun experience but it starts being pretty difficult to find a new post idea every day. If you are doing Blogtober this year too, how difficult did you find that? At first, I had planned to take an online course in November but then I got an opportunity to go to a speech therapy cure for my sons. So, we will have a break from daily life and go to a clinic for a few weeks speech therapy. I hope the coronavirus crisis won’t prevent us from traveling there. Maybe, I will still…

    My favorite apps for children

As we were last confined at home, we bought tablets to keep the children entertained. We have Amazon Freetime on the tablets, which gives us access to several books and apps. This post may contain affiliate links. See the Disclosures page for more information. Favorite apps for children Monument valley This game is graphically very beautiful. It is a kind of 3D Labyrinth in which you have to play with perspective effects to help the little character to find his way to the next door. My 5 year old son loves this game but he often needs help because it is somewhat difficult for little children. Potty time with Elmo…

Music review: Grand Prix (Benjamin Biolay)

Benjamin Biolay released his first album, Rose Kennedy, in 2001. He soon became one of the most known figure of the nouvelle chanson française, a musical genre that is inspired from singers such as Brel, Brassens or Edith Piaf but with a more soft pop music style. Benjamin Biolay has since written 11 further albums, the latest being Grand Prix that was released this year. He worked with famous singers like Vanessa Paradis or Keren Ann. He also worked as an actor. His ex wife Chiara Mastroianni, is an actress and the daughter of the very famous Catherine Deneuve. Although he was rapidly seen as one of the most gifted…

    10 quotes about gratitude

I resumed working in home office after a week of holiday and I am already stressed… In such situations, it is helpful to think of things you are grateful for. While researching gratitude, I found some inspiring quotes and I set a list of my favorite quotes about gratitude Inspiring quotes about gratitude “For my part, I am almost contented just now, and very thankful. Gratitude is a divine emotion: it fills the heart, but not to bursting; it warms it, but not to fever.” Charlotte Bronte “Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.” A.A Milne “Let…

    Blogtober update

Today is October 15th, which means I did half of Blogtober. It was sometimes difficult but not as difficult as I had feared. Indeed, I decided to try Blogtober only a few days before October and therefore I had not prepared posts in advance. I was afraid that I would have no ideas what to write about or that I would write only very short, uninspired posts. I also feared I would have technical issues that would prevent me from posting. However, I managed to write nearly every day and I wrote several posts about books, which I am happy about. Here are the blog posts I wrote for Blogtober:…
